ACUPUNCTURE I studied under Dr. John Amaro, who has been doing acupuncture for the last 40 years.  Dr. Amaro has studied acupuncture all over the world, including China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam.  He is an international speaker and teacher of acupuncture.  I bring his knowledge to you.  You also don't need to use needles to get the benefits of acupuncture.  9 volt battery devices work well.

Because Acupuncture is based on Energy, the Chinese say that whenever the Energy in the Universe changes, it's a good time to do something proactive for your health.  This occurs 4 times a year as the seasons change.  As a Chiropractic & Wellness Center, we offer an incentive to our patients to at least come in 4 times a year for preventive maintenance.  Come in for an adjustment during the solstice and we do the recommended acupuncture points for the change of the seasons at no extra charge on your visit.

Does Acupuncture hurt? NO! But even so, most people have associated in their minds immunizations they received as children. We DO NOT use needles! Laser and electric stimulation of acupuncture points work very well.

What is laser acupuncture?

Acupuncture- a Chinese practice of puncturing the body at specific points to cure disease or relieve pain.
Laser Acupuncture- rather than puncturing the skin to stimulate these specific points, a laser is used. The laser is simply an infrared light beam at 625 nanometer wavelength that transmits energy into the body to stimulate these points.  It is totally painless.

Acupuncture has been performed for thousands of years by the Chinese and is based on energy or Chi in the body.  And for those thousands of years Acupuncture has traditionally been done with needles because, frankly, that's all they ever had.  When those needles are inserted into the body, they stick out like little antenna, that's exactly what they are.  They attract energy from the environment into the points, just like a TV antenna pulls in the reception to a TV set.  This process typically takes 20 minutes.  Welcome to the 21st century!  There are other ways of doing acupuncture.  People don't like being stuck with needles, even though it is painless, and I don't really like having used needles in my office so it's a match.  Laser, or light energy is another way of putting energy into the acupuncture system.  It's fast, and you don't feel much, maybe some warmth from the bulb.  Another technique is electrical stimulation with a 9V battery device.  This you will feel as an electrical charge and the intensity is adjustable.  We have videos on page 2.
